Their Story Continues Through You

When Western Suburbs' 2026 packs went out, every kid at the club opened their box and found more than a kit.
Inside was a card. It told them who started the club, and why the shirt they were about to pull on matters.
1965
Western Suburbs was formed in 1965, in Melbourne's west, by Greek migrants chasing opportunity and carrying their identity with them.
Far from home, they built something that felt like it. A club. A community. A place to belong.
They called it Panellinios. ΠΑΝΕΛΛΗΝΙΟΣ. For all Greeks.
The eagle
On the chest sits the club's crest: a two-headed eagle, the symbol of Byzantium. It has been part of Greek identity for centuries, and it still flies over Greek churches today.
One head looks east, one looks west. For a club started by people who left one home to build another, it couldn't be a better fit.
Our twist
Western Suburbs came to us after seeing what we'd done for Essendon Royals.
They already had a kit in mind. It was dated, and it wasn't No Vanilla. So we kept what the club loved about it and added our twist.
The home kit keeps the classic blue and white pinstripes, but the stripes fade as they run down the shirt, and the centre band carries a different tone of blue. From a distance it's the Western Suburbs everyone knows. Up close, it's a shirt nobody else has.
The away kit stayed a classic: clean white, blue trim, the two-headed eagle on the chest. Some things you don't touch.
For everyone who wears it
More than sixty years on, the club is still built on that word. But the spirit doesn't belong only to the families who started it. It belongs to everyone who wears the colours.
That's what we wanted every player to know. Not just the seniors. The eight-year-old pulling on their first club shirt too.
The card
This is what went into every pack:
Every time you pull on this shirt, you represent more than a team. You represent sacrifice, resilience, and the courage of those who started it all.
From roots in 1965 to generations today, their story continues through you.
More than a shirt. It's heritage.
Why we do it
A kid doesn't know who started their club. Most adults at the club don't either. The history sits in a few old photos in the clubrooms and in the memories of the people who were there.
We think it belongs in the hands of every player. A kit is how a club tells people who it is. The card makes sure they hear the story behind it.
NO VANILLA.
